erzeta,
Yes, it appears that Vanessa-Mae and Virginia Woolf are tied for no. 18 in a field of 40.

erzeta,
Those numbers only represent the percentage of the total vote that goes to each entry. Yesterday Vanessa-Mae had 0.71% putting her in 18th place tied with Virginia Woolf. Today she has 0.59% of the TOTAL vote. placing her in 21st place, tied with Twiggy. As the total vote changes the percentage will change
Even though they call this a list "of the most influential women the world has seen." They are all from the UK, therefore I do not know but a few of them, and from the one line biographies, I can not tell the significance of the others achievements.
Taking that into account; by looking over the bios; at first glance I can see only 13 or so really deserving to be ahead of Vanessa, (In my opinion). Some of these are Margaret Thatcher, the 2 suffragettes Fawcett and Pankhurst, Rosalind Franklin, etc.
My opinion is that to be included on a list with such names as Margaret Thatcher, etc is great honor in itself. And to be 21st in a field of 40 is still very good.

Well Boys And Girls,
As you know, by now this "Contest" is over. Out of the 40 women on the list Vanessa was tied for 17th place with Barbra Windsor. There were four others just ahead of her by one or two tenths of a point or less. The winner was Leona Lewis whose only claim to first place as the worlds most influential woman, was that she won a singing contest. With 70.90 percent of the vote. Second place went Margret Thatcher with 5.14 percent of the vote.....so what can I say?
Still we must admit that Vanessa maintained a very good showing.
