Hello everybody :)

I went yesterday to a vanessa mae concert and I loved it!

I need some help to discover some names of the songs.

Do you know one which the drummer does some amazing stuff with percussion things during almost the whole song?

I hope you get what I mean.

I am surprised that Vanessa-Mae did a concert yesterday. I think none of us here is aware that she is doing any concerts at the moment.

To what concert have you been? Where was it?

You need to be more specific on the song! Maybe it was 'Bach Street Prelude.' There is a lot of percussion in that music.

the concert was in Madeira Island

she was invited because Madeira Island (Portugal) is a European region of the year 2004 so loads of artists have come here to play, one for each months, and Vanessa was the artist invited in May. For example Eros Ramazotti will be here in June.

She said that it was great to leave the studio where she has been all this time finishing recording her album. She also said she missed already being at stage.

It was a great great concert, I loved it.

The music has some rhythm, she played the whole song sitting on stage, as the drummer ( I thing Fergus) was "playing" which variated percursion elements.

He came to the front, and had sticks and other things and he was hitting them on the floor and even had a horn! :D

anyway thanks for the help :)

That song is definitely 'Bach Street Prelude.' It is on her album 'Storm.' I've seen her play it live several times and it is a brilliant and spectacular piece of music in a live concert. I was so impressed by the joy Vanessa-Mae shows in playing it on stage before her fans.

What else did she play?

Thanks spika, I appreciate your imput.

So her concert at Madeira Island was more or less a normal 'Tour For Change' program. I enjoyed it too in Berlin, December 2001.

I must be honest, previous to the concert I could name one of her songs. I had heard about her being so young and yet so talented, but I didnt know her work.

It's not really my type of music but I really liked the concert :)

and this forum is very very well done, congrats she must be proud for having such caring fans :)
