The Blessed Spirits, closing number on the Storm album, is music really close to my heart. I have special feelings with this particular track.

Vanessa-Mae opened her Storm concert in The Hague, June 1998 with this song. This concert was my first live Vanessa-Mae concert experience.

At the start of this concert, Vanessa-Mae came down from a stairs playing the music of 'The Blessed Spirits.' She looked like this photo wearing the same Chinese style long coat:

I was so impressed by the sound of her electric violin that I will never forget the emotions that went through me. I preserve so much wonderful memories to this moment: finally at last I was present at a Vanessa-Mae live concert, a moment that I had been looking forward to so much. I had so much high expectations that I was very nervous whether Vanessa-Mae could meet them. To be short, Vanessa-Mae did more than that!!!!!!!!! It became an evening that I will never forget!

I feel the same emotion every time as this final track of Storm starts to play on my speakers. I always switch my amplifier to a higher level!

Does anyone else has such a special feeling with one piece of our girl's music?

Blessed spirit, yeah I forgott it because of all these nice private ICQ contests, sneaky previews, hot downloads and inspiring Making Of's because I like to hEAR Vanessa's voice so very much as her philosophie for every day purpose. Fine to remember me on this Hymne for a great festival (perhaps as opening of my last Karatefight or for nQhrth kQhrean marchin on). Two yEARs ago I tried and tried the electric guitar and decided to lay it down forever (violin seem to be such interesting instrument for me, would last some yEARs It would come nEAR to me). I take my electric toothbrush, clean the lense of my CD-player from the nicoteen (my broken teeth won't need it anymore) and I'll throw out all this dusty mp3-files out of my computer substitute them with the extension -.Qhr (questionable help on reductions) to hEAR this again while oiling my guitarneck. Very good idEAR Rijko. Will celebrate stQhrm again this weekend. I baught me a new tricycle (bicycle with three wheels - havn't enough money for a "mQhrgan M+6") and will drive via Qin Sing Tung as soon as I trained enaugh with my guitar again. The guitar in "Blessed spirit" sounds very great, havn't looked at the cover, is it John Clark (is he still lieing in Dubaii on his flying carpet beside his Oilamp underneath his tent?) or Clem Clempson? (is still drunk from Tequilla and got his Mockingbyrd again) or Mr. mQhrgan (found a better oil for his motor) I will look under the cover for this heaven kissed guitarists again.

So don't loose this mutual feelings and yQhr sustain tuned up to be flat and carefull with yQhr amplifier, yQhr amQhr

P.S. Yes I know this feeling: My goose pimple skin wakes up from sleeping and my bones wan't stop from weeping and I must say that Tequilla Mockinbird is such melodie, full of dynamic and well arranged cQhrds and I would like to see a video to this melodramatic latin romance without no dance

It just sort of takes me back to my high school days while trying to survive Speech class. The very first speech was to be done impromptu. We were give a slip of paper with any type of topic, and had to ramble on for three minutes the best that we could (preferably about the topic).

Hmm, confused? You will be! :O :hypnotized: :paeek:

Funny you should say this Rijko, because the first time I actually listened to Blessed Spirits, I felt it described my life. You have the long serious parts and the little happy skippy parts - someone tell me if I'm making no sense! I know it sounds rather morbid but Blessed Spirits is the music I want played at my funeral. Not that I'm gonna die anytime soo but.... :D

Another piece that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end is Red Hot. I was about to give up playing the violin, lets face it, I wasn't very good. But I heard Red Hot and it insipred me. I carried on and yesterday my teacher told me that he couldn't teach me anymore because I'm too good! He's a bass player and he says I now need a violinist as a teacher. Yay! I am progressing!

Also, I remember when I heard Salut d'Amour. I nearly exploded! I'd finally found a piece that I could play, that had been recorded by Vanessa-Mae.

I could go on forever because all of Vanessa-Mae's recordings have a special place in my heart.

nice story Laura! i think Vanessa-Mae is a big ispiration to a lot of violin players, especially for starters to continue practising this difficult instrument.

I also like very much 'Russian Dances' by Tchaikovsky; it is on Vanessa-Mae's Kids Classics cd.

Vanessa-Mae impresses me enormously with her interpretation of the second movement of Beethoven's violin concerto. It shows so clearly Vanessa-Mae unique style of violin playing.

I hope that she will record this concerto again someday. I would love to see and hear her perform it live at a concert.

With me it was also with her Storm tour, this was my first
experience of seeing Vanessa live,
Vanessa opened the night with I Feel Love, she took us all by surprise by entering the stage from behind us she was wearing the same outfit as she wore in times square she was so beautiful it has to be the moment when i fell in love with her. it is a moment that i will never forget and what an appropriate song to fall in love with her.

Hi all.

I'm doing an Essay on "Why I Would Like to be an Early Years Worker." and I had run out of ideas. (I've got 200 words to go yet. :( ) Anyway, I put on the "Tchaikovsky Concerto in D" on Vanessa-Mae's "The Classical Collection Part 1", (And yes, it is still playing now!), and it's giving me ideas! It's amazing! My fingers haven't stopped typing since I put it on!

Just thought I'd share how inspiring Our Vanessa is!

Hope everyone is ok?

I've always been partial to Aurora. Someday, maybe my oldest son will play it (and I hope without forcing to bow to hard against the strings!)

P.S. What is a Jelly Tot?

A jelly tot is a jelly baby.
A soft jelly or jello (I believe it is called in the US) sweet
shaped like a baby.
It was made famouse by Tom Baker when he played Dr Who.

Joe_mate: I know this sounds kinda sad, but my violin's name is Aurora! That's funny!

Arioch: You are wrong! A jelly tot is not a jelly baby. (I hate jelly babies!) It's a little circle of jelly covered in sugar. :p Sorry but I have to emphasize this! Oh, and thank you very much for wishing me luck, I need it!

I can't wait til I can get Storm to more than 1/2 speed! I'm working on it!
